The Last Thursday, the Linkin Park band introduced new vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Britton at the start of the livestream, who will join returning new guys bandmates Brad Delson, Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, and Phoenix in Linkin Park’s new lineup. Shinoda and Armstrong share vocal responsibilities. In addition to Relapse, the new lineup launched a new single, “D Emptiness Machine.” Armstrong’s performance style extraordinarily continues the band’s legacy: his entire singing is reminiscent of Bennington’s, without being a parody, which becomes immediately apparent in the second song of the set: “Somewhere I Belong.”
“This is an extraordinary day for us,” Shinoda said in the introduction, adding that guitarist Alex was replacing Delson for this night. “Every one of you is playing the music of two Chester Benningtons today,”
